Shanni is a published children’s author and illustrator, who started out at Art College in Leeds, then trained in theatre design in London.
Over a 14 year career, Shanni worked in theatre, Film and TV. This included set design, prop making and Art Direction. She also worked for Spitting Image Productions for 4 years in their Art Department.
Shanni was involved in the creation and installation of a number of large window schemes for Selfridges on Oxford street and Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge, London.
She also worked within a team of artists to create theatrical settings for productions and events which included a Royal Variety performance at the Opera House in London and a Royal wedding in Bahrain.
Since moving from London to Brighton, Shanni began a different pathway in Play and art based projects, for Brighton and Hove City Council. She produced and implemented City wide events, including the City Sports Awards & Take Part Festival over a 10 year period.
Shanni is a freelance illustrator who loves to draw daily and has over 50 sketchbooks. Other hobbies include, beach volleyball, mountain walking and cycling.
